JetSet Jazz
Four-time Juno Award Nominee, jazz sensation Matt Dusk is embarking on the most ambitious project of his already impressive career. A trio of concept albums, with the first being released this fall on Royal Crown Records. Called Jetset Jazz, each album takes the listeners on a musical journey to through the ‘50s and ‘60s, the Golden Age of The Great American Songbook.

Each album is unique in that it represents a particular destination, a unique sound, and an individual arts who influenced the era. Featuring both originals and standards of the day, Jetset Jazz, is a time capsule to when big-band swing was the pop music of the day, and all the airlines had plenty of leg room.

Our journey begins with the first album in the trilogy. Set in Las Vegas at the height of Frank Sinatra’s career, Dusk croons some of the classic songs Old Blue Eyes made famous and lifelong classics. We are whisked away to The Sands Casino, where the big band plays and the audience hopes that Sammy or Dean might stop by to join Frank—-or Matt Dusk—onstage any moment.

Not just an album of Sinatra tunes, the first instalment of this trio of albums features several original tunes inspired by the Chairman of the Board, as well. Recorded with Juno-winning engineer John Baily, and co-produced with Gemini award-winning composer and arranger, Matt Dusk offers up brand-new songs that manage to capture a timeless feeling while also sounding as if they were written all the way back when Sinatra was in his prime. Written by Dusk and Grammy Award Nominees Jenson Vaughan and Vince Degiorgio, these original songs are exactly the type of music Sinatra himself would be singing today.

Featuring the work of 40-time Grammy-winning engineer Al Schmitt, with arrangements by Grammy winners Patrick Williams and Sammy Nestico, Dusk and his 54-piece orchestra offer up the perfect retro album for every Rat Pack fan.

And that’s not all! Included in coming months are the two follow-up albums in the box set that is Jetset Jazz. Dusk follows his tribute to Vegas and Sinatra with a tribute to the hot and sultry nights in Havana and the warm, velvety voice of the legendary Nat King Cole. The third and final instalment will have listeners flying first class all the way to Rio De Janeiro for a tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim, considered one of the biggest stars of the Bossa Nova.

This first in a Hat Trick of new albums, Jetset Jazz is the 11th studio album from Matt Dusk in 16 years. The multi-platinum-selling artist has sold more than one million records worldwide, and racked up a series of awards and nominations along the way. Besides receiving 4 Juno nominations, Dusk is the recipient of a Rose Gali Award, the most prestigious music award in Poland, and is the first jazz artist in history to score a number one hit in Japan. He has shared the stage with legends such as Tony Bennett and regularly tops the Jazz Charts all over the world.

The stack of gold and platinum records—along with the numerous awards and nominations—isn’t going to slow down Matt Dusk anytime soon. With this ambitious trio of concept albums on the horizon—and a world tour ready to follow—Dusk is prepared to do what he does best: Offer the listener an experience that is both an amazing, nostalgic flashback and a modern classic waiting for ears to discover. Jetset Jazz is the perfect addition to any collection…with no baggage fees!
